Join the Pink Wave!
Our purpose again in 2024 is to focus on diagnosis and treatment and raise funds to improve breast cancer outcomes, with the specific goal of purchasing biopsy needles and breast tissue markers, critical to optimal care and yet not adequately covered by the State.
Out suite of events include a charity theatre performance at the Lithuanian National Drama Theatre on April 25th, 2024 and auction to herald the arrival of Spring, partnership with the Vilnius Marathon to provide information about cancer prevention including self breast-exams, our #pinkwavelt wrapped monuments to promote awareness, and our #pinkwave24 pink bus screening tour to enable women in less accessible regions to obtain mammography and other critical preventive and diagnostic care.

IWAV helps women from certain less-accessible regions in Lithuania to have access to state-of-the-art cancer diagnosis and treatment!
In partnership with Nacionalinis vėžio institutas we work with local doctors and municipalities to identify patients in need and physically transport them to the hospital where leading radiologists and oncologists can provide efficient screening and immediate clinical care.
This year the campaign went viral.
We've been able to bring around 1000 women from all over Lithuania to the National Cancer Institute for breast cancer diagnostics, being able to early detect the disease for some of them and just on time they were able to start the treatment.

Charity evening at the Lithuanian National Drama Theatre
April 25, 2024 at 19:00
More details coming soon....
Dear Friends,
We invite you to the most important charity evening of the 16th "Blossom of Hope" campaign.
With a large team of creators and actors, we are preparing a charity evening of a new format for you, during which our hearts will be touched by real stories of women and their family members - women who personally faced a diagnosis of breast cancer.
The evening will bind us together with healing golden threads of kindness and compassion.
We will also hold an auction. During the event, all funds collected will be used to purchase breast tissue markers for Lithuanian breast cancer patients and organize preventive screenings for women from around the country.
The party will be started by the charismatic Rolandas Mackevičius.
We will celebrate kindness with the music of Leon Somov.
We will feast on nibbles specially prepared by Taurakalnis.
The author of the art installation specially created for the event is Mantas Petruškevičius.
Let's celebrate spring and life together!
About Blossom of Hope
Lithuania sees 1700 new breast cancer cases every year, the most common cancer in women with a 10% lifetime risk.
Despite the incidence rate of breast cancer in Lithuania being below the European average, the mortality rate is higher than the European average
(Ferlay, J et al, 2018).
90% of women with breast cancer recover with early detection and the best available treatment and care.
For the past 15 years, IWAV has mobilized the Lithuanian and international business, artistic, diplomatic and medical communities around supporting breast cancer care in Lithuania. Over the course of its first 14 years, Blossom of Hope has raised 300 000€ to purchase and distribute free medical supplies for cancer diagnostics to leading hospitals.
