About Blossom of Hope
Lithuania sees 1700 new breast cancer cases every year, the most common cancer in women with a 10% lifetime risk.
Despite the incidence rate of breast cancer in Lithuania being below the European average, the mortality rate is higher than the European average
(Ferlay, J et al, 2018).
90% of women with breast cancer recover with early detection and the best available treatment and care.
For the past 13 years, IWAV has mobilized the Lithuanian and international business, artistic, diplomatic and medical communities around supporting breast cancer care in Lithuania. Over the course of its first 12 years, Blossom of Hope has raised 260 000€ to purchase and distribute free medical supplies for cancer diagnostics to leading hospitals.
